Gift card pocket…

A simple little gift card holder, using Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze…

Using Ski Slope DSP, Best Yet sentiment, and some punches, this was easy, easy, easy! The card holder itself is Baja Breeze card stock, stamped with snowflakes from Snow Swirled in white craft. The back is Whisper White, edged with the scallop edge punch and accented with holes from the 1/16th punch (yes, they are crooked..sorry!) I used the slot punch to make a place to put the ribbon (I had to use it twice, to make the opening a little wider for the Alpine felt ribbon. The ribbon was looped through, punched with my Crop-a-Dile, and accented with a 1/2 circle of Baja Breeze and an Antique Brass brad (you could also use an eyelet to secure it). The slot for the gift card was done on my paper cutter – I just carefully cut a slot into the Baja Breeze before adhering it to the Whisper White.

The pocket is a standard size card, cut from a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 Chocolate Chip card stock, lengthwise. It was then folded in half, then the flap was folded down (I just kind of eyeballed this). The flap was then trimmed with the scallop edge punch and accented with dots made with white gel pen. The DSP was adhered before sticking down the flap (both for the liner and on front). It was punched with the corner rounder. The chocolate chip strip behind the tag is actually the reverse side of the DSP. Best Yet sentiment was stamped in Baja Breeze on Whisper White and punched with the square scallop punch. The sides of the pocket were attached with sticky strip, for extra holding power. The top and bottom edges were punched with the corner rounder.

I didn’t have any gift cards to display in this – so you get to see my Costco card! lol

Isn’t this sweet? I’m probably going to use it for a Starbucks card for my college-age princess!

  1. Those colors are so great together! And the Chocolate Chip looks almost like well-worn leather. Well, as much as paper can look like leather. 🙂
