Baby Bundle x2 (twins!)…

Made this for a co-worker who is expecting twins late this summer.

This card uses the fabulous Baby Bundle stamp set. I masked the baby stamp so I could have the second one peeking around. The coloring was done with Stampin’ Pastels, for a soft effect. Dazzling Diamonds glitter and metallic brads dress up the carriage. Since my co-worker has opted to not find out the gender of the babies, Certainly Celery and So Saffron work so well (sometimes, you just can’t beat a classic combo!). The Framed Tulips embossing folder for the Big Shot gives this a nice “frame”.

The sentiment was punched with the Word Window punched and layered onto the Certainly Celery layer, which was punched with the Modern Label punch. This was dressed up with a single silver brad and mounted on dimensionals.

Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron

Quickly Swirled…

Just when I thought I had all the cards figured out and was on the way to being done, hubs gave me some card requests, to people not on our normal list. He even recommended *GASP* that I might just want to buy a box of cards for this task! (I know, the horror!!) So, I sat down in my stampin’ room and came up with this:

Some chunky glitter and silver elastic cord gave this some “bling” – but it was an amazingly quick card to make. To make it even better – I use some leftover pre-cut card stock from my last stamp-a-stack. No cutting – just stamp, stamp, stamp. Two-way glue, glitter, glitter. Corner punch, two punches with my  1/8th hole punch (used my Crop-A-Dile – kept the holes even), thread and tie.  I made 10 of these in less than an hour!

Stamps: Snow Swirled
CS: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: chunky glitter in silver, silver elastic cord, corner rounder

A big ::raspberry:: to hubs who mentioned the “S” word (storebought, that is). 😉

P.S. We are on snow day #2 – I can’t say I’m complaining! More cookie baking, card making, and playing with puppies for me today…life is good!

Warm Wishes…

LOVE rub-ons! This card was very minimally stamped, but given a great feel with a couple of rub-ons!

This one is another that took on a completely different look than what I intended. My inspiration was the Alpine ribbon (this set of ribbon is so yummy!) I used Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip card stock, just like the ribbon.

The theme of this one is distress, distress, distrss. This a much different place than where I started! The RHR and Old Olive pieces were sponged/distressed with Chocolate Chip (both sponging and running edges through the ink pad).  The Chocolate Chip was stamped in Versamark with a snowflake from Snow Swirled and then given torn edges.

The sentiment comes from the Season of Cheer rub-ons! These are fabulous and gave my card a sementiment to match this theme! The snowflake was stamped on Very Vanilla, then punched with my 1 1/4″ punch (this was distressed with a sponge, dipped in Chocolate Chip ink). This was layered with Riding Hood Red (also ink-distressed, punched out with my 1 3/8″ punch). The final layer was Chocolate Chip card stock, punched with the round scallop punch. This was accented by a brad in Antique Brass (in the metallic brad collection/multi-pack).

The overall feel is a card with a “warm” result! Riding Hood Red and Old Olive both distress wonderfully and really get richer with age! (wish that was true for us all!!)

Don’t forget – you can get rub-ons for 20% off with a $20 purchase through Sunday! Click the “Shop 24/7” button to the left, then “shop now”. Not only do I recommend Season of Cheer (you get a ton of sentiments – a full sheet in both Chocolate Chip AND white!) – but also “Chit Chat” – it has sentiments to last for almost any occasion throughout the year!
